The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office, which includes Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson Counties, is accepting resumes for an Assistant District Attorney position. The selected candidate will work directly under the Border Prosecution Unit Initiative dedicated to Human Trafficking/Human Smuggling. Responsibilities of the position include working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, felony intake, preparation of cases for grand jury, negotiating pleas and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, as well as in criminal bench trials and jury trials in District Court. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas and have a minimum of fifteen (15) years prosecutorial experience and extensive felony trial experience. Wilson County Commissioner Pct. 3 Robert Harold “Bobby” Lynn of Stockdale, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. Bobby, 63, was born to Harold and Lucille (Wiley) Lynn on Oct. 18, 1947, in Seguin. He had served as Wilson County Commissioner Pct. 3 since 1996.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elizabeth (Everett) Lynn of Stockdale; his sons, John Lynn and wife Carrie and Roy Lynn, all of Stockdale; his daughter, Loretta (Lynn) Orr and husband Michael of Saginaw; and his grandchildren, Randy and Wyatt Lynn, and Jillian, Joy, Joshua, and Jaycee Orr. He is also survived by his parents, Harold and Lucille Lynn of Stockdale; his sister, Alene Quinney and husband Marvin of Stockdale; sisters-in-law Joanne Riley and Robyne Stone; brothers-in-law James Everett, Jake Spinks and wife Lorie, and David Everett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 17, from 2-9 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.

A funeral service was held Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Keith Johanson officiating.

Interment followed in the Nockenut Cemetery near Stockdale.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

We both will miss Bobby Lynn. He was a joy to be around. He always was helpfull when asked to do something for our area in the county. God bless his family during this time of loosing their loved one.
