Augustina “Lilly” Garcia passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 73. She was born in Dewees on May 19, 1937, to Nicholas Aranda and Micalela Garcia.

Lilly was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Pete Aranda; and her son, Alfredo Garcia Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Tony Garcia and wife Isabel, Billy Garcia and wife Cindy, and Raul Garcia and wife Rita, all of Poth; her sisters, Mary Perez of Poteet and Pauline Berg and husband Jim of Jourdanton; her brothers, Raymundo Aranda of San Antonio, Frank Aranda of Pleasanton, and Nicholas Aranda of San Antonio; her special friend, Ramiro Vela; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary was recited on Friday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

Mass followed on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning as celebrant.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Pallbearers were Joshua Garcia, Michael Alfaro, Frank Aranda, Arthur Aranda, Richie Perez, and Valarie Elizondo.
