Martha Mills, 91, passed away on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas. Martha was born in San Antonio on July 30, 1919, to John F. Michel and Mary Sosa. She was a lifelong resident of Floresville and Wilson County, and a member of the Catholic church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. “Jay” Mills; her parents; her son, Lester Mills; her grandson, Mark Allen; a sister-in-law, Ida Mae Mills; and her sister, Marie Hagan.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Dixie Killian and husband Jerry of La Vernia, Patty West and husband Alton of Bulverde, Ruth Allen and Jerry Scheel of New Braunfels, and Martha Sarver of Floresville; and her son, Don Mills and wife Vickie of Floresville. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Sellers of Beeville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and a prayer service were held Sunday, Feb. 20, from 6-9 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was held on Monday at 9 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning, celebrant.

Interment followed in the Harper Cemetery in Stockdale.
