The first-ever Wilson County 4-H Llama Show is set for Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. in the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce Arena, located off U.S. 87 W. in La Vernia.

Admission is free, and a refreshment stand will be open.

Other activities include fiber displays, and a spinner and a weaver will demonstrate techniques of working with the fleece from the animals.

Members of the local 4-H clubs have been busy preparing. This group of 32 students meets on the first Saturday of each month at Leslie Lane Farms near La Vernia to learn about llamas and alpacas, practice showmanship, and work on service projects.

For more information, call Susan Leslie at 830-401-0819 or leslielanellamas@lavernia.net.
