Amanda LeeAnn Shank and Jonathan Lane Hirshon were united in marriage on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, in The International Center in San Antonio, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Steve Purdy and Rabbi Monty Eliasov. A reception, dinner, and dance followed in the La Orilla Ballroom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Shank of La Vernia. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Robbins Sr. of Seguin, Juanita Grubbs of La Vernia, and William Breda of San Antonio. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hirshon of Stamford, Conn., and Judy West of Del Ray Beach, Fla.

Melanie Shank, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Ken Hirshon, father of the groom, served as best man. Hailie Pawlik served as flower girl; the ring bearer was Landry Vargo. Ushers were Raymond Robel, Jesus Espinosa, Glenn Robbins, Everett Miller, and Luke Miller.

The bride attended La Vernia High School and is a summa cum laude graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies.

The groom attended Westhill High School in Stamford, Conn. He is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester, Mass., with a Bachelor of Arts in ancient history. He is the owner of Horizon Public Relations in Santa Clara, Calif.

Following a honeymoon to Iceland, the couple now live near San Francisco, Calif.
