Arthur R. Ximenez, a resident of Anchorage, Alaska, entered eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, in the Providence Alaska Medical Center. Arthur was born April 20, 195l, in Floresville, Texas, to Waldo and Magdalena Ximenez.

He was educated in Floresville and Santa Barbara, Calif. After graduating from high school, he moved to Alaska, where he was self-employed as a tradesman in Anchorage, the North Slope, and Seward.

Arthur’s primary residence was in Anchorage and he had also built a cabin in Seward at Lowell Point. He spent most of his summers there. He loved to design and build furniture, renovate homes and cabins, and work with his hands. Arthur loved to travel to see friends and family all over the United States. He loved the outdoors, music, holidays, hosting celebrations, and gathering folks together. Arthur loved to travel to Seward, fish off his beach, and cook for his friends and loved ones, who were many. He was generous, gregarious, and always willing to help a friend in need.

He is survived by his father, Waldo Ximenez of Floresville; his sister, Anna Ximenez Flores of Floresville; two sons, Anthony Ximenez of Ankeny, Iowa, and Savoy Ximenez of Anchorage; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous family members and friends.

A memorial service and Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 12, at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.

Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

A luncheon will be served in the Sacred Heart Parish Hall.
