Daniel T. Arrieta, 72, of La Vernia, Texas, and a former resident of Monahans, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, in La Vernia.

He was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Big Spring to Joe and Guadalupe Arrieta.

Daniel retired after 35 years with Dowell Schlumberger. He then owned and operated Dan’s Den in Monahans, something he truly enjoyed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary Ann.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cindy Fierro and husband David of La Vernia, and Debbie Gearard of Monahans; his brothers, Joe Arrieta of San Antonio and David Arrieta of Midland; and his grandchildren, Miranda and Baylie Fierro, and James Daniel Gearard of Monahans.

A funeral service took place Saturday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. in the Harkey Funeral Home Chapel in Monahans.

Interment followed in the Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahans.
