Alois Wiatrek, a longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at the age of 94.

Alois was born in Kosciusko on June 15, 1916, to Felix and Mary Kolodziej Wiatrek. He was a member of the San Jose Mission Church and was retired from Sweeney and Co., a wholesale grocer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Rosie, Bernice, Regina, Josephine, and Emma.

Alois is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Irene; his daughters, Lillian Woodlee and husband Tom, Janice Terrill, Susie Bielefeld and husband Brian, and Jean Di Mambro and husband Robert; sons James Wiatrek, and Kenneth Wiatrek and wife Liz; a brother, Peter Wiatrek; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation was held in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio on Thursday, March 3, from 5-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in San Antonio, with interment following in Mission Burial Park South, also in San Antonio.
