Anna Marie Macha went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. She was born Sept. 20, 1920, to August and Barbara Fuchs in San Antonio, Texas.

She was a graduate of Brackenridge High School. On Aug. 6, 1941, she married Charles Macha. Anna was a longtime member of the Hermann Sons Fraternal Organization and a retiree. She was active in square dancing and round dancing. She was a member of the Grand Squares and the Rhythm Rounds. Anna was also a member of the St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Anna Marie is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Charles Macha; her daughter, Janet Abell and husband Phil of San Antonio; her grandchildren, Casey Abell and wife Staci of Houston, Trevor Abell and wife Lauri Ann of El Paso, and Drew Abell and wife Marianne of Monterey, Calif.; her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Evan, Wesley, and Juliette Abell; 11 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.

A visitation was held on Sunday, March 6, from 5-7 p.m. in the Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio. A rosary was recited on Monday at 10 a.m. in the St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church in San Antonio, with a funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m.

She was laid to rest in the Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio.
