The March female student of the month is Odilia Hinojosa. Odilia is the 18-year-old daughter of Darlene and Eduardo Estrada.

Odilia is active in numerous FHS organizations and is a leader among her peers. She is currently serving as the Red Cross vice president and the Student Council president. She is also treasurer of the Leo Club and is a member of the band’s color guard.

For her efforts in the classroom, Odilia has earned recognition. She has been named to the all A honor roll and was recognized for Outstanding Leadership. Odilia is a member in good standing with the National Honor Society.

When not busy with academic and extracurricular activities, Odilia is giving back to her community. She has participated in Relay for Life and has volunteered with highway clean-up projects. Odilia is also a member of the church youth group and active in catechism classes at Sacred Heart Church.

Upon graduation in June, Odilia plans to attend Our Lady of the Lake University as an education major to become a kindergarten teacher.

The March male student of the month is Kyle Dunn. Kyle is the 17-year-old son of Raquel Amaro and Jack Dunn.

Kyle has been an active member of the Air Force Junior ROTC and earned a leadership role. He is currently the operations officer, making him among the top eight members of the corps.

Success has not been limited to ROTC. Kyle has been named a National Society of High School Scholars member and was awarded the Outstanding Student of the Year Award for the VALU-1 class. Kyle attended and graduated from the Summer Leadership School at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Kyle is also active in the 4-H, serving as the chapter’s parliamentarian.

When not busy with his extracurricular and academic activities, Kyle is volunteering his time and talents in the community. He frequently participates in ROTC Adopt-A-Highway event and visits the veteran’s home twice each semester.

Despite his demanding schedule, Kyle spent this past summer working at Sonic Drive-In.

Upon graduation in June, Kyle plans to attend either St. Mary’s University or the University of Texas at San Antonio where he will major in law enforcement and criminal justice.
