Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Ben and Albina Capps celebrated their 62nd anniversary in the Regency Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation in Floresville on two separate occasions.

The first was held on Feb. 26 in their room, when cake was served to various family members.

Then on Feb. 28, Regency Manor surprised the couple with a cake, flowers, and a banner to celebrate their anniversary with some of their friends at the facility.

Albina and Ben Capps met on a blind date in Beeville, Texas. They were married on Feb. 26, 1949, in Mission.

The couple have seven children, 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Albina was an only child, but Ben came from a large family. Ben worked in the oil fields while Albina stayed home and took care of their loving family until she had six of her children. Then, she went to beauty school and eventually opened her own beauty shop.

They have obviously built a great relationship and love for one another to have stayed together so long.
