Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Mary Doris McBeath left this life on Friday, March 11, 2011, in Floresville, Texas. She was born on April 8, 1925, in Decatur, Ala.

Doris graduated today. After 86 years, she gets to touch the face of the Savior she has prayed to, sung to, and written poems for. How blessed she is today.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Adelle and Harry James Simms; her brother, Joe Simms; her daughter, Denise Gusman; and her son, Patrick McBeath.

Doris is survived by her husband, Frank McBeath; her sons, Bill McBeath and wife Tammy, David McBeath, and Carol and Frank McBeath Jr.; her daughter, Marlene and husband Danny; her brother, Jimmy Simms; and her sister, Margaret Ellen Hennike. Among her joys were 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, who will celebrate her life and send her off with prayers.

A visitation was held on Monday, March 14, from 6-8 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Stanley Mosley officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.
