Offer condolences

Henry Johnson Reno passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas, from pneumonia. He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Dandridge, Tenn., to Martin and Amy Gann Reneau.

He was the youngest and last of 11 children, and the only one to move to Texas. Henry was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. Henry entered the Navy in 1940 to help his country and family. He retired early from Kelly Air Force Base at age 56.

Henry and his wife, Ruth, enjoyed going to Las Vegas for the nickel slots, Houston to visit friends, and Tennessee to visit family.

He cherished family and friends; many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners were centered at his home.

Henry will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Salinas Reno. He is also survived by his children, Marie E. LeBlanc and Isaac H. Reno and wife Paula Breed Reno; granddaughters Sandie LeBlanc Kidd, Leslie Reno Currin and husband Rick, Melissa LeBlanc Hickman, and Cara Reno. Henry was very proud of his two great-grandsons, Zackery Currin and Tyler Hickman.

Henry lived a long, happy, and rewarding life, touching all those around him. He leaves behind numerous family and friends who will dearly miss him. The Lord has welcomed him with open arms.

A burial service will be held in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA 50340-2018 or the Humane Society.
