Leroy Van Drury III, 58, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2011, after a 2-1/2 year battle with brain cancer. He was born May 15, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas.

Leroy’s mission during his battle with cancer was to bear witness of his vision of the Lord. His motivation was to bring others to Christ and to believe that the Lord is real and present, so we can “all be together forever and eternity.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy V. and Muriel Theresa (Haverstock) Drury; and a daughter, Dana Dawn Drury.

He is survived by his earth angel and wife of 19 years, Barbara (Kleinschrodt) Drury of St. Hedwig; his children, Shannon McCarthy and husband Jeremy of San Antonio, Stephanie Ayala and husband Jose of St. Hedwig, Amber Tully and husband Dallas of St. Hedwig, Dawn Gravell and husband Brian of Elmendorf, Dana Drury of San Antonio, Christy Drury of St. Hedwig, Misty Lubianski and husband Derik of St. Hedwig, and Leroy Drury IV of St. Hedwig; his mother, Lucille Drury; his siblings, Linda, Lorrie, Bobby B., Dwayne, Peggy, Bobby Jean, and Beverly; and his grandchildren, Madison, Garrett, Chance, Brianna, Mackenzie, Joseph, Parker, Savannah, and Kaelyn.

A visitation took place Sunday, March 13, from 4-6 p.m. in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with a rosary recited at 6 p.m.

A Mass was celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the church with Father Bill Zadora officiating.

Interment followed in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in St Hedwig.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
