The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office, which includes Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson Counties, is accepting resumes for an Assistant District Attorney position. The selected candidate will manage a specialized caseload with a focus on criminal enterprise, human trafficking/human smuggling and other cases as needed. Responsibilities of the position include working closely with Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies, felony intake, preparation of cases for grand jury, negotiating pleas, and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, as well as in criminal bench trials and jury trials in District Court. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas and have a minimum of five (5) years prosecutorial experience with felony cases and extensive trial experience. Salary commensurate with experience. Resumes will be accepted through the close of business October 19, 2015. Hugo “Morris” Webb Jr., 63, of Stockdale, Texas, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, in Seguin. He was born in Smiley on Oct. 10, 1947.

Morris was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugo Morris Webb Sr.; a niece, Amber Webb; his mother- and father-in-law; and a brother-in-law.

Morris is survived by his wife since Nov. 15, 1975, Barbara (McKinney) Webb of Stockdale; his son, Trey Webb of Stockdale; two brothers, Delbert Webb of Round Rock and John Webb of Nixon; two sisters, Karen Lohse of San Antonio and Ellen Melissa Laging of Corpus Christi; his mother, Agnes Inez (West) Webb of Smiley; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, March 8, from 6-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Irwin officiating.

Interment followed in the Bundick Cemetery near Smiley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
