FLORESVILLE -- After wrapping up its 10-game regular season with a 2-1 loss to McCollum, the Floresville Jaguar soccer team will now begin preparing for the playoffs. Floresville finished District 57-4A play in second place behind Beeville with a 5-3-2 record.

The Jags started their season with a 2-0 win over Beeville, then dropped their second district game by the score of 4-1 against Harlandale. Floresville responded to the loss with a pair of victories over Southside and Pleasanton, and then beat McCollum 5-0 to close out the first half of district play.

Beeville got a little payback against Floresville in game six, as the Lady Trojans topped the Jags, 5-2. Floresville then tied Harlandale 2-2, before falling to Southside by the score of 1-0. Floresville tied Pleasanton 1-1 in game nine, and then finished the season with the 2-1 loss to McCollum.

Beeville stood alone at the top of the district standings, while Floresville and Pleasanton finished with identical records. Because of the head-to-head results, Floresville was awarded second-place honors, and Pleasanton will enter the playoffs as the district’s No. 3 seed. Harlandale finished fourth, McCollum was fifth, and Southside finished sixth.
