Offer condolences

Helen Marie Nash, a resident of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 4:35 a.m. in Floresville at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 6 days.

Helen was born on July 9, 1928, in Luther, Okla., to John Gentry and Mary Ethel Leonard LaGrand. After graduation from Wellston High School in Wellston, Okla., Helen worked as a bookkeeper with Southwestern Stationery and Bank Supply in Oklahoma City for many years. Helen was a Rainbow Girl and a social butterfly. She enjoyed traveling, wildlife, reading, playing games, and hanging out with her friends. Helen moved to La Vernia in 2006.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; and her former husband, James Roy Nash.

Helen is survived by her sons, James Bradford Nash and wife Barbara and Mark A. Nash and wife Valirie R.; her grandchildren, Jonathan Nash, Julie Marie Nash, Mark A. Nash Jr., Marie Abigail Nash, and Constance Elizabeth Nash; her sister, Evelyn George and husband Lloyd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held Thursday, March 17, from 5-8 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

Funeral services were held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Grace Bible Church in La Vernia with Pastor Erin Weaver officiating.

Interment followed in the Sutherland Springs Cemetery in Wilson County.

Serving as pallbearers were Brian Williams, Victor Williams, Mark Nash Jr., Larry Ritter, Steve Fritz, and Lynn Pavlic.
