Bridal Guide 2011: A dollar here, a dollar there

Money, or dollar dances, are common in weddings. Open to any guest wanting to dance with the bride or groom in exchange for some sort of contribution, the money dance provides the newly married couple with the opportunity to interact with their guests one on one.

In most variations of the money dance, contributions are usually monetary and the bride and groom each wear some type of sash for guests to pin the money to, set up a container for the money or appoint attendants to collect the money. Although a dollar or two may be recommended, guests can give as little or as much as they wish.

The money dance should continue until everyone in the lineup has had a chance to dance with the bride or groom. When they have finished dancing with everyone, the bride and groom may come together and dance with each other until the song ends.

If you are looking for a good way to mingle with guests and get some one-on-one time, a money dance may be the way to go.
