Pedro E. Arce of Nixon, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011, in Nixon at the age of 74 years, 5 months, and 16 days. He was born in Nixon on Oct. 11, 1936, to Alejandro and Carmen Arce.

He was a member of the Altar Society, W.O.W., and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nixon.

Pedro was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Petra Arce; his sister, Mary; and his brothers, Salvador and Desidoro.

He is survived by his children, Dalia Perez and husband Vincente of Nixon, Martha Saenz of Edinburg, Pedro Arce Jr. of Nixon, Alejandro Arce of Nixon, and Noel Arce and wife Esperanza of Pearsall; his sisters, Dora Riojas of Nixon and Janie Garcia of Seguin; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, March 29, at 4 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nixon.

A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Alfonso Gioppato officiating.

Interment will follow in the Latin-American Cemetery in Nixon.
