Andres L. Garcia of Floresville, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011, in San Antonio at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 2 days. He was born April 22, 1948, in Floresville to Manuel and Ramona Garcia.

He was a member of the American Legion.

Andres was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Armando Garcia; and his sister, Hermenia Serna.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Silveria Perales and husband Martin of Gonzales, Alejandra Alfaro of Floresville, Aurora Lopez of Stockdale, Ramona Angelas of Mesquite, Manuel Garcia and wife Elisa of San Antonio, Paul Garcia and wife Linda of Redbluff, Calif., Dionisio L. Garcia of Floresville, Steve Garcia and wife Connie of San Antonio, Daniel L. Garcia of San Antonio, and Basilio Montez and wife Lisa of Cameron.

A visitation was held on Monday, March 28, at 5 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Basilio Montez and the Rev. Manuel Garcia officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Pallbearers were Isaac Garcia, Tyler Garcia, Basilio Montez III, Adrian Garcia, Diego Garcia, R.C. Juarez, Rafael Alfaro III, and Christopher Navarro.
