Robert Anthony Zaiontz, 80, of Pleasanton, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011. He was born in Falls City on Sept. 20, 1930, one of 11 children to Frank and Theodosia Zaiontz.

Bobby served his country for two years in the U.S. Army before starting his career at Fort Sam Houston in the DIO Maintenance Division as work leader in the heavy equipment shop and foreman of the chassis bay.

His family extends special thanks to the caring Dr. Arun Rao, the wonderful nurses and doctors at Southeast Baptist Hospital, and the staff at the Odyssey House for providing such a calm and peaceful experience.

Bob is survived by five siblings and his wife of 59-1/2 years, Lillie; his children, Vivian Pedrotti, Mark Zaiontz, Patricia Lindsey, and Pamela Spence; and his sons-in-law, Buddy Lindsey and Terry Pedrotti.

He was also blessed with seven grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Kaitlin, and Kenneth Pedrotti and Samantha, Jessica, and Isabelle Spence. He also leaves Matthew’s wife, Janet Pedrotti; his great-grandson, Andrew Pedrotti; and Kaitlin’s husband, Matt Howton.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, March 23, from 3-7 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Loire.

A funeral Mass was held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the church.

The burial was held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Leming.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation Inc., 7151 N. Main St., Suite 2, Clarkston, MI 48346 or the charity of one’s choice.
