Clarence T. “Bud” Huwe of Runge, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. He was born to Fred M. and Emma Dittmann Huwe on Oct. 4, 1926, in Perham, Minn. Clarence married Fran Kmiecik on June 7, 1954, in Alexandria, Va. He was a retired lieutenant of the U.S. Navy, having served 28-1/2 years during World War II, Vietnam, and Korea. He was a former commander of the Runge Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9189 and a former commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars District No. 24. He served as the mayor of the city of Runge. . . .
