La Vernia tennis team competes in Wimberley

The La Vernia High School varsity tennis team recently competed in the Wimberley 3A Shootout. The Bears and Lady Bears played well, and finished second overall.

In girls doubles competition, Ali Beck and Julie Barnes reached the second round of the main draw, as did teammates Preslie Pavlich and Alex Leytham. Sarah Ellis and Levi Andrews finished fourth in mixed doubles.

During boys doubles play, Eric Mercado and Adam Poore won the consolation bracket, while A.J. Ramon and Nick Guitron reached the consolation finals.

Shelby Brantley finished first overall in girls singles play, and Michael Wang was first in the consolation bracket of boys singles.
