After graduating from high school, Larry joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii at Schofield Barracks and the 25th Infantry Division. After returning from Vietnam, he married and had three children. He was a wonderful man and loving father and will be dearly missed.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Varchia Green and husband Timothy of Victoria, Robert Carroll of Victoria, and John T. Carroll of Copperas Cove; his grandchildren who adored him, Ashley Green, Reagan Green, Ryan Green, and Sheldon Carroll, all of Victoria; and his sister, Maryann Hendrickson and husband James of Vidor.

A visitation was held on Thursday, March 31, from 1-2 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

Interment followed in the Round Lake Cemetery near Smiley.
