1927-2011

Our beloved Daddy and “Grandpa” Florencio “Frito” Mora, 83, went home to be with the Lord our Father on Friday, April 1, 2011. He was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Adkins, Texas, to Pete Mora and Angelita Rangel.

Florencio married Carolina Arredondo on April 3, 1948, in San Antonio. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954.

He is survived by his wife, Carolina Mora of Sutherland Springs; his sons, Ismael Mora and wife Yolanda of Sutherland Springs, Johnny Mora and wife Aleida of La Vernia, and Tony Mora of San Antonio; his brother, Epifanio Granado and wife Virginia of San Antonio; his sister, Augustina Alaniz of Pyote; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors was held on Tuesday, April 5, in the Concrete Cemetery in La Vernia with Pastor Paul Buford officiating.

A “Celebration of Life” was held in the River Oaks Church in Sutherland Springs.

Pallbearers were Ismael Mora Sr., Johnny Mora, Tony Mora, Ismael Mora Jr., Joshua Anthony Mora, and Joshua Jason Mora.
