ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Josefa Antuna Becerra, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 3:49 a.m. in the Pecan Valley Healthcare in San Antonio at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 15 days. She was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Durango, Mexico, to Augustine and Susanna Soriano Antuna. Josefa married the Rev. Jose M. Becerra, who preceded her in death in September 1990. Josefa was a member of Templo El Horeb.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her infant daughter, Lydia Ester Becerra; her daughter, Ruth Martinez; her sons, Alfredo Becerra and Adabel Becerra; her grandson, Gary Martinez; her sister, Felipa Tejerina; and her brothers, Macario Antuna, Jose Antuna, and Manuel Antuna.

Josefa is survived by her sons, Ismael Becerra Sr. and wife Delmira, and Jose M. Becerra Jr. and wife Benigna; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Benancio Antuna, Daniel Antuna, Abel Antuna, and George Antuna.

A visitation was held on Friday, April 8, at 5 p.m. and a prayer service was held at 7 p.m. in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Poth.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the church with Pastor Norma Ramirez officiating.

Interment followed in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were Richard J. Martinez Jr., Ismael Becerra Jr., Joey Becerra III, Pete Martinez Jr., Abel Becerra Jr., and Alfredo Becerra Jr.
