The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office, which includes Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson Counties, is accepting resumes for an Assistant District Attorney position. The selected candidate will work directly under the Border Prosecution Unit Initiative dedicated to Human Trafficking/Human Smuggling. Responsibilities of the position include working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, felony intake, preparation of cases for grand jury, negotiating pleas and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, as well as in criminal bench trials and jury trials in District Court. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas and have a minimum of fifteen (15) years prosecutorial experience and extensive felony trial experience. Along with the seven varsity team members who will advance to the regional meet, the Floresville High School junior varsity boys and girls tennis teams are celebrating a pair of district championships. In addition, the freshman boys team can also boast of a district title.

In freshman competition, John Giddens and Justin Parker led the Tigers with their third- and fourth-place finishes. Adrian Rico and Enrique Garcia finished first in junior varsity boys doubles, and Rembrandt Bukowski and Reagan Middleton finished second in the same division.

Haley Wares won top honors in girls junior varsity singles play, and Tracie DeLeon finished second. Julian Gonzales also finished second in junior varsity boys singles.

The Jaguars swept the top honors in girls doubles play, as well, as Sydney Rodriguez and Ambar Villarreal finished first, and Claudia Avilez and Lauren Ackley finished second. Vincent Villarreal and Joshua Gonzales finished third in junior varsity boys doubles play.

In varsity competition, the team from Floresville played well at the district meet. Chris Villafranco and Thunder Allen finished second in boys doubles, Ashlyn Talley and Roseann Palmer finished second in girls doubles, Joseph Quintanilla and Madison Pollok finished second in mixed doubles, and Brittany Aikens finished second in girls singles competition.

These varsity players have qualified to compete in the regional meet scheduled for Monday, April 18, in San Antonio.
