The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office is seeking candidates for the position of an Administrative Assistant. Duties will include but not limited to: answering incoming calls and greeting visitors, prepare discovery for defense bar as required, providing administrative and clerical support to the ADAs and District Attorney, assist in general office work and perform related duties as follows: Operate a multi-line telephone switchboard, proficient use of software applications and computer equipment, scanning and compiling files for eDiscovery, filing and creating court files, generating reports as required. Applicants must have at least five (5) years of administrative assistant experience, strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Hornets win district track title, advance many to regional meet

SAN ANTONIO -- The East Central Hornet track and field teams competed in the District 28-5A meet at South San High School last week and walked away with a number of awards. The varsity boys won the team title by 34 points over Corpus Christi Carroll, and the girls finished third behind Corpus Christi Carroll and Corpus Christi King. In addition, a number of athletes from both the boys and girls teams will advance to the regional meet. Individual results were as follows:

Varsity boys

Field events:

High Jump: Nick Coleman- second, Austin Jupe- third, Allen Austin- fourth.

Long Jump: Nick Coleman- second, Kendrick Davis- third.

Triple Jump: Ricky Guzman- fourth.

Discus: David Tercek- fourth.

Pole Vault: Kyle Padalecki- first, Troy Pieniazek- second, Michael Sanchez- sixth.

Track events:

3,200-meter run: Javier Salas- second, Adam Lee- third.

1,600-meter run: Adam Lee- first, Javier Salas- fourth.

800-meter run: Kendall Spann- first.

400-meter dash: Aaron Spann- first, Matt Coleman- third.
