La Vernia High School art students traveled to Houston Clear Falls High School April 8-9 to compete in the State Visual Arts Scholastic Event.

More than 1,200 works of art were chosen to compete in the state event out of the 25,000 entered in the Regional VASE contests across the state.

La Vernia entered 19 artworks in the event. The following students received medals for their artwork at the state level: Amy Gastauer, Brittnee Harder, Jeremy Kuntscher, Kayla Markgraf, Taylor Melton, Morgan Mills (two pieces), A.J. Moczygemba, Johnna Sturm, and Marissa Valerio (two pieces).

These artworks will be displayed in the Wells Fargo bank in La Vernia.
