Mathilda “Tillie” Mary Schwab Krueger, 89, a resident of Fashing, Texas, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2011, in Kenedy. Mathilda was born Dec. 28, 1921, to Edmund and Sophie Syring Schwab in Campbellton. Mathilda married Alfred William Krueger Sr. on Sept. 3, 1940, in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Fashing. They raised their nine children and farmed for 70 years in Fashing. Mathilda was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the farm. She volunteered her time and talent to the Fashing 4-H Club, supporting her children with their many projects. She was also active in school and community projects.  . . .
