Leroy Richard Bienek, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the age of 77. He was born March 31, 1934, to Richard and Katherine Lowak Bienek in Wilson County, Texas.

To the man who has blessed our lives, your passage brings us sorrow for our loss but relief from your suffering. Although you are now in God’s kingdom surrounded by preceded loved ones, you will always remain in our heart. You have given joy to all you’ve known.

Leroy entertained many people with his music in many surrounding dance halls with bands, including “The Tall Texans,” “Texas Ranch Hands,” and “Country Edition,” which included his daughter, Corinne, gifted with his talent. He always enjoyed family reunions, camping, hunting, fishing, barbecues, and making music with family and friends. He started two successful scale companies, Corpus Christi Scale Co. and Bastrop Scale Co. Inc. Both are still in existence today. His success was due to his honesty, integrity, outstanding customer service, and hard work. He shared his experience and knowledge with his family and friends.

Leroy was married to his wonderful wife, Mary Ann Arnold Bienek for 56 years. They began their journey together in New Braunfels, where they met both working for the city of New Braunfels. They traveled together through life’s journey, making many friends and longtime acquaintances along the way.

We thank God we have been blessed to be part of your life. You have taught us many things, including love, hope, strength, joy, and dignity.

The family would like to thank family and friends for all their support, and the wonderful medical personnel that ensured his comfort during his remaining time with us. He will be missed by all.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Daniel Bienek.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Arnold Bienek; his children, Corinne Heaton and husband Guy, Kelly Bienek, and Teresa Wells; his grandchildren, Misty Bulak, Cameron Bulak, Rachael Gamboa, Michelle Montgomery, Jessica Bienek, David Bienek, and Bret Wells; and his great-grandchildren, Brianna Bulak, Christon Gamboa, Chloe Gamboa, Zachery Montgomery, Karlie Montgomery, and Jocelyn Bienek; his aunt, Ella Monette; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at 3 p.m. in the Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel in Seguin with the Rev. Dennis Darilek officiating.

A reception will follow in the St. James Catholic Church Parish Hall in Seguin.

A private interment will be held at a later date in the San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 510 South Camp, Seguin, TX 78155.
