Help farmers, ranchers in West Texas
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples encourages Texans to help those affected by the wildfires in North and West Texas.
The Hay Hotline sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) is accepting listing of available hay to provide forage for animals where pasture and grazing land has been burned.
In addition, the TDA’s State of Texas Agriculture Relief (STAR) Fund is accepting donations. This provides relief to producers affected by agricultural disasters to provide feed, rebuild fences, restore operations, and to pay for other relief.
Visit the TDA website at www.texasagriculture.gov and click on Hay Hotline or STAR Fund to donate.
Hay donations are being accepted at:
•Barkley’s Home & Ranch Center in Boerne, 32450 I-10 W., 830-249-2656
•Stonewall County Livestock Supply Point, Stonewall County Fair Grounds in Aspermont, 940-989-3510
•Jeff Davis County Livestock Supply Point at the Red Barn Ranch near Fort Davis, 432-837-6207.
The Kendall County 4-H invites donations to buy hay. Contact them at www.kendallcounty4h.org.
