A common myth is that it’s possible to identify the breed of a given feral hog by its color and markings. “Hogwash,” said a Texas AgriLife Extension Service wildlife specialist.

Until recently, if anyone tried to tell you how many feral hogs there are in Texas, they were just blowing smoke, according to a Texas AgriLife Extension Service wildlife biologist in a March 24 AgriLife Extension Service press release. . . .
