AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)
Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are good on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms near the jetty and dam. Striped bass are good on liver and shad at Dead Tree Point, and down rigging silver and gold spoons and marble spin-nerbaits near the jetty and dam. Redfish are fair on perch, shad, tilapia, crawfish, and shrimp near Dead Tree Point, and down rigging silver spoons near the jetty and dam. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and cut bait near the dam. Blue catfish are fair on cut bait.

BUCHANAN Water clear; 63 -- 66 degrees; 10.84' low. Black bass are fair on JDC RocKraw trailers, hard jerkbaits, pumpkin JDC Craws, and chartreuse Whacky Sticks on jigheads along ledges in 10 -- 20 feet. Striped bass are good trolling Curb's striper jigs and crankbaits, and drifting live bait near Paradise Point in 20 -- 30 feet. White bass are fair on Pirk Minnows and Shad Raps from the near Cedar Point. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 12 -- 20 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastic worms and crankbaits near the dam. Striped bass are fair on spoons and jigs near the dam and the crappie wall in 15 -- 20 feet, and fair on cut perch. Redfish are fair down rigging silver spoons near the dam. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and cheesebait. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water clear; 62 -- 65 degrees; 2.41' low. Black bass are fair on JDC drop shot worms, jerkbaits, brown Curb's hair jigs, and Scoundrel worms on shaky jigheads along ledges in 12 -- 20 feet. Striped bass are fair to good trolling white Curb's striper jigs and jigging Pirk Minnows and Spoiler Shads. White bass are fair jigging Pirk Minnows and Blade Baits along the main river channel in 30 feet. Smallmouth bass are good on JDC smoke/red flake tubes and watermelon curl tail grubs over rock piles in 12 -- 25 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and green crappie jigs upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 65 -- 68 degrees; 6.48' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and heavy jigs along banks. White bass are good on minnows and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Drum are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLETO CREEK Water fairly clear; 0.66' low. Black bass are fair on soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with nightcrawlers, liver, and shrimp in 10 -- 20 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch in 10 -- 25 feet.

FALCON Water stained; 69 -- 72 degrees. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and chartreuse soft plastic worms and lizards. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse jigs. Channel and blue catfish are very good on frozen shrimp, stinkbait, and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

GRANGER Water clear; 63 -- 66 degrees; 0.06' high. Black bass are good on black soft plastic worms and jigs around heavy timber. White bass are good on white grubs in Willis Creek. Crappie are fair on jigs in shallow spawning areas and in shallow brush piles. Blue catfish are good on prepared baits on rod and reel, and on juglines baited with Zote soap and shad. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.

LBJ Water fairly clear; 61 -- 65 degrees; 0.24' low. Black bass are fair on tequila sunrise Curb's jigs and watermelon tubes. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on silver Pirk Minnows and Li'l Fishies near the power plant. Crap-pie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on minnows and shrimp. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

TRAVIS Water stained; 62 -- 66 degrees; 17.93' low. Black bass are good on watermelon Senkos and crawfish crankbaits in 5 -- 20 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on silver crankbaits, white grubs, and minnows in 10 -- 20 feet. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs in 10 -- 25 feet. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG Water stained. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics and spin-nerbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows. White bass are good on minnows and Li'l Fishies. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.
Saltwater

BAFFIN BAY Trout are fair to good over sand and grass on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Black drum are good in the Land Cut on crabs. Trout are fair to good in the Land Cut on live shrimp.

BOLIVAR Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on soft plastics and plugs. Black drum and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.

CORPUS CHRISTI Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Black drum and redfish are fair to good in the Packery Channel on crabs. Trout are good in Oso Bay on topwaters.

FREEPORT Trout are fair at San Luis Pass on live bait. Sand trout, trout, redfish and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs in Christmas Bay and at the jetties. Bull redfish are good just off the beach on sardines.

EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout are good on the south shoreline on Catch 5s, MirrOlures and Catch 2000s. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intra-coastal on fresh shrimp. Black drum are fair to good in the Ship Channel on crabs.

WEST GALVESTON BAY Trout are fair to good for drifters working shell on live shrimp. Trout, sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and croakers. Redfish are good in the back lakes on shrimp and Gulps. Trout are good on top-waters in the afternoon for waders.

EAST MATAGORDA Trout are fair to good over deep shell on Gulps and live shrimp. Trout are fair for drifters in the back lakes on live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.

MATAGORDA Redfish are fair to good on the edge of Oyster Lake on shrimp and crabs. Black drum and redfish are fair to good at the jetty on crabs. Waders have taken trout over sand and grass on top-waters.

PORT ARANSAS Redfish are fair to good at East Flats on gold spoons and small topwaters. Black drum are good in the Shrimpboat Channel on crabs and finger mullet. Redfish, trout and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp.

PORT ISABEL Trout are good at Submarine Bar and Long Bar on DOA Shrimp and TTF Flats Min-nows. Redfish are fair to good at Holly Beach on DOA Shrimp and live shrimp.

PORT MANSFIELD Trout are fair to good on topwaters around sand and grass. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes. Black drum and redfish are good on crabs at East Cut.

ROCKPORT Trout are fair to good in Morris--Cummings Cut on free--lined shrimp. Black drum are good in the Lydia Ann Channel on crabs. Redfish are fair to good on the Estes Flats on mullet and crabs.

NORTH SABINE Trout are fair to good on the Louisiana shoreline on topwaters and Corkies. Flounder are fair on jigs tipped with shrimp around marsh drains. Redfish are good in the marsh.

SOUTH SABINE Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are fair to good around Blue Buck Point on topwaters and live shrimp. Trout are good under slicks.

SOUTH PADRE Trout are good around the spoil islands, channel edges and color changes on DOA Shrimp and live shrimp. Black drum and redfish have been taken at the jetty on shrimp.

TEXAS CITY Redfish are fair to good in Moses Lake on shrimp. Trout and black drum are good on the reefs on live shrimp.

TRINITY BAY Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Trout are fair for waders on the east shoreline on topwaters.
