Dorothy M. Horton, 83, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. She was born July 29, 1927, in San Antonio.

Dorothy was a loving, giving person who lived her life with courage and taught her family how to be survivors. She always put others first and loved and honored God in all she did. We are so fortunate to have had her as our mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, etc.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Anthony and Alice McIntosh Heimann; her sister, Maxlyn Diane Alderman; and her brother, Samuel James Alderman.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Alice Elaine Olson, Warren Howard Briscoe, Bonnie Gay Horton, Dottie R. Urrabazo and Joe, and Ray W. Marr and Sherri; her grandchildren, George Jason Speece and Teri, Joey Urrabazo, Nick Urrabazo, Jenny Nichols and Alex, Shane Urrabazo, and Daryl Marr and fiancee Angela; her great-grandchildren, Colin Speece and Dylan Speece; her brother, David Alderman and Donna; her sister, Sydney Vasquez and Lupe; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.
