The Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) recently sponsored the Louie the Lightning Bug Coloring Contest in elementary schools across the GVEC service area. Louie visited with 2,400 second-grade students in 33 elementary schools. The “Louie” program, which is designed to educate second-graders about electrical safety while they are having fun, has proven to be a successful teaching tool for the electric cooperative.  . . .
