Truck races at Cycle Ranch rescheduled

FLORESVILLE -- Officials with The Off-Road Championship (TORC) Racing Series recently announced that the scheduled April 30 to May 1 season-opening venue location has been changed from Cycle Ranch in Texas to Michigan’s RedBud MX. The Cycle Ranch truck-racing event has been rescheduled for Oct. 15-16.

U.S. Auto Club (USAC) officials touring the Texas facility have called for additional safety enhancements, to be put in place prior to racing action. These changes impacted the April plan for track testing, and forced the race to be rescheduled.

“While it is difficult to make a schedule change at this point, we know it is the absolute correct decision to assure a safe and professional racing experience for our teams,” said Jason Smith, senior vice president of racing competition. “USAC is founded on providing safety in racing first.”

Cycle Ranch is a new permanent off-road park, which will feature a 1.0-mile short course track. Facilities for spectator viewing and incredible racing action are being modeled after the great facilities featured with the TORC Series at Crandon in Wisconsin, and the Bark River facility in Michigan.

The Traxxas TORC Series is the fastest, most punishing short course truck- racing series on the planet. TORC events are packed with flag-to-flag fender banging as drivers push the limits over whoops and jump-filled natural terrain racetracks.
