Last known address Abilene

A 31-year-old man last seen in Abilene is the latest addition to the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted list, and a $7,500 cash reward is being offered for anonymous information leading to his arrest.

Jesus Alberto Villegas, who is 5 feet and 11 inches tall, disappeared in 1998 and is wanted by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office for sexual assault of a child and probation violation. His criminal history also includes possession of a sawed-off rifle and felony theft. He is considered armed and dangerous. (The photo above was taken in 1998.)

For more information on Villegas, see his DPS Most Wanted poster: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/wanted/topTenFugitives.htm#;view=Details/fugitive=6 <http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/wanted/topTenFugitives.htm> .

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor’s Office, offers rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the 10 Most Wanted Fugitives. Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in three different ways:

∑ Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

∑ Text the letters DPS--followed by your tip--to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.

∑ Submit a tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture to submit a web tip.

All calls, texts or e-mails are anonymous.

For more information on specific fugitives or the crimes they are accused of, please contact the local police agency in the area where the fugitive was last seen.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives featured on the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted list. You can find the current list--with photos--on the DPS website at http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/wanted <http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/wanted> . The list is updated as needed.
