Junior high Beavers win district track meet titles

The Falls City Junior High School track and field teams won both the seventh- and eighth-grade district titles. The eighth-grade team scored 142 points, well ahead of Woodsboro’s 97 points. In the seventh-grade division, the Beavers scored 167 points to beat out second-place Port Aransas with 143 points.

Eighth grade

Field events:

Shot Put: William Stolle- fourth.

High Jump: Cody Houdmann- fourth.

Discus: William Stolle- first.

Pole Vault: Cody Houdmann- first, Joseph Swierc- second, Kaleb Hons- third.

Long Jump: Joseph Swierc- first.

Triple Jump: Jeremiah Corey- sixth.

Track events:

2,400-meter run: Ramon Gutierrez- second.

1,600-meter run: Ramon Gutierrez- second.

800-meter run: Jeremiah Corey- first, Kaleb Hons- third.

400-meter dash: Joseph Swierc- first, Conner Dziuk- fifth.

200-meter dash: Cody Houdmann- third.
