By Jordan Scheel, Junior Journalist.

The Wayne Hawk Memorial Golf Tournament was held March 26 at the Pleasanton Country Club.

The tournament is held every year to help a cause, and this year’s tournament benefited the Stockdale Athletic Association, as well as allowing a graduating senior an opportunity to receive a scholarship.

The first-place team consisted of Nathan Tomerlin, Jason Sturm, Nathan Morris, and Phillip Morris; Lyle Miller, Tyler Krug, Blaine Akin, and Mike Jendrusch made up the second-place team; and the third-place team included Richard Ware, Eric Ware, Nathan Sanchez, and Tyler Hassell.

Businesses that helped make the tournament a success include Sylvia’s, Kourtney Voight, Ashco Exteriors, Holmes Foods, Wilson County Republican Judges, AFC Lease Service, Geofill, Kosciusko Golfers Association, Pruski’s Feed and Fertilizer, A & C Oil Co., Akin Gauging Service, Janicek Insurance, Priority Electric, H & P Partnership, Caraway Ford, JLM Electric, Maham’s, Nixon State Bank, Stockdale Monument Co., GG’s Cupcakery, West Bros. Construction, Savage Plbg., Movie Hut, Moy’s Water Well Service, Commerce Bank, Bang Electric, and Trent Rowell, Attorney at Law.

This tournament would not have been possible without the help from all of these businesses and the Golfer’s Association greatly appreciates the help.
