Stockdale High School’s latest UIL accomplishments came in the way of regional winners in computer applications, computer science, and calculator.

Katie Wiatrek will be going to state in computer applications Saturday, May 7, for the fourth year in a row. She received second place at regionals in San Marcos and is coached by John Martin.

The computer science team placed first at regionals and consists of Moises Holguin, first place; Andy Cano, second place; Joe Bustos, fifth place; and Gerald Gonzalez. They will compete in Austin on Thursday, May 5; John Martin also coaches them.

The calculator team, coached by Amy Thiede, will be competing May 7. Moises Holguin, first place; Clayton Lynn, second place; Gerald Gonzalez, and John Rogers will travel to Austin to vie for the state title.

Stockdale High School and staff wish all of these contestants well in their endeavor at the ultimate state title.

Carey Murphy, a sophomore at Stockdale High School, is a junior journalist with the Wilson County News. She participates in volleyball and UIL events and plans to attend medical school.
