Robert “Chuck Berry” M. Ramos of Cañada Verde, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in his home with his family at his side. He was born Jan. 25, 1942.

Robert will be missed tremendously by all who loved him, said family members. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who loved his family and friends immensely. He loved working on lawn mowers and chainsaws, and going to casinos.

He was always ready whenever anyone needed his help, support, or advice. He was always there for his grandchildren. We will miss his smile and his ability to lift everyone’s spirits with his humor, said his family. He was a devout Catholic whose faith in our Lord was strong and unwavering.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, Felix and Fidelia Ramos; his brother, Rudy Ramos; and his son, Joe Ramos.

He is survived by his wife, best friend, and constant companion for more than 40 years, Delia E. Ramos; his four children, Rick Ramos, Rosemary Garcia, Bobby Ramos Jr., and Alexander Ramos; his two sisters, Virginia Guzman and Elida Ramos; and his four sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law who loved him very much and took great care of him until he passed. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

You will live forever in our hearts, and you will always be our rock and foundation. Until we meet again, we love you, said his family.

A visitation was held on Sunday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Castle Ridge Mortuary in San Antonio.

A funeral service was held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Interment followed in the Mission South Cemetery in San Antonio.
