ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Eugenia “Janie” Virginia Skrzycki Young, 84, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011. She was born Dec. 24, 1926, to Joseph Francis and Anastasia Lipok Skrzycki in her home on a small farm near Sayers.

Janie was the youngest of 13 children. She had been a member of the St. Hedwig rosary society since 1949 and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in La Vernia.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Daniel Albert Young on Feb. 5, 1949, in St Hedwig, and spent 54 years happily married. Janie spent her married life living in La Vernia.

Janie was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her siblings, Agnes Padalecki, Clara Zigmond, Josephine Gutz, Stanley Skrzycki, Louis Skrzycki, Helen Leos, Mary Rakowitz, Margaret Albrecht, Cecilia Doege, Joe Skrzycki, Annie Skrzycki, and Regina Grams; and her son-in-law, Randall Goeth.

She is survived by her children, Sister Dorothy Young of San Antonio, Loretta Stahl and husband Carl of La Vernia, Robert Young and wife Sarah of La Vernia, Milton Young and wife Cheryl of La Vernia, Mildred Young Goeth of La Vernia, and Dannette Wileman and husband Charles of Seguin; her grandchildren, Robert “Bobby” Young Jr. and wife Tracey, Christine Young and fiancé Hank Perez, Tracey Krenek and husband Nathan, Michael Young, Nicholas Young and wife Julie, Randall “Troy” T. Goeth Jr., Shelly Martin and husband Jason, Lisa Wright and husband Lance, Michelle Young and fiancé Dane Boyle, Craig Wileman and fiancée Angel Bolhouse, and Kelly Wileman: her great-grandchildren, Blake Young, Brooke Young, Jason Martin Jr., Trenton Martin, Hannah Young Perez, and Claire Wright; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Wilbert Young and wife Marlene, Helen Doege and husband Milton, and Lorene Skrzycki; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. The rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in La Vernia with Father Stan Fiuk officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in La Vernia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert “Bobby” Young Jr., Nicholas Young, Michael Young, Randall “Troy” T. Goeth Jr., Craig Wileman, Jason Martin, Nathan Krenek, Lance Wright, and Blake Young.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Martin Jr., Trenton Martin, Hank Perez, and Dane Boyle.

Memorial contributions can be made by way of Mass cards; to Hope Hospice, 611 North Walnut Ave., New Braunfels, TX 78130; or to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 14151 U.S. 87 West, La Vernia, TX 78121.
