Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Bexar deputies attempt to ID body

ELMENDORF -- Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office are analyzing fingerprints taken from a body found in the San Antonio River here May 16.

Sheriff’s Detective Rubin Arevalos said that someone on a property near the inter-section of Loop 1604 and Raintree Grove reported at approximately 7:30 p.m that they found the body of an adult female floating in the river. Arevalos said the person who located the body is believed to have been considering the purchase of the property.

The approximate age and ethnicity of the woman -- who deputies believe to have been in the river for four to five days before being discovered -- is unknown.
