The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office is seeking candidates for the position of an Administrative Assistant. Duties will include but not limited to: answering incoming calls and greeting visitors, prepare discovery for defense bar as required, providing administrative and clerical support to the ADAs and District Attorney, assist in general office work and perform related duties as follows: Operate a multi-line telephone switchboard, proficient use of software applications and computer equipment, scanning and compiling files for eDiscovery, filing and creating court files, generating reports as required. Applicants must have at least five (5) years of administrative assistant experience, strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Arturo Valdez Ximenez Sr., a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at 4:30 a.m. in his residence in Floresville at the age of 74 years and 22 days.

Arturo was born April 9, 1937, in Floresville to Pedro and Beatrice Valdez Ximenez. He was an adult foster care provider for many years and enjoyed gardening, yard work, and dancing. Arturo especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He married Guadalupe Mendez on May 4, 1968, in Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Eustacio Ximenez, Pete Ximenez, and Trinidad Ximenez.

Arturo is survived by his loving wife of 43 years on May 4, Guadalupe Ximenez; his son, Arthur Ximenez Jr. and wife Stephanie; his daughter, Mary Jane Ximenez; his grandchildren, Marcos Gamboa, Kaitlyn Ximenez, Adrianna Ximenez, Allyssa Ximenez, and Arthur Ximenez III; his sister, Mary Ximenez; and his brothers, Rudy Ximenez and Jose “Chito” Ximenez.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, May 4, at 4 p.m. and a rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with Father Phillip Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were his son, Arthur Ximenez Jr.; his

grandson, Marcos Gamboa; his godsons, Stephen Trinidad and Carlos Lerma; and Ronnie Guevara, Eric Rodriguez, and Michael Barrera.

Serving as honorary pallbearer was his best friend, Vicente Rodriguez Sr.
