Offer condolences


Otto L. Gawlik, 81, a lifelong resident of Falls City, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011, in his residence. He was born Oct. 29, 1929, in Falls City to Henry and Bernice Sczepanik Gawlik.

He married Rosalie Moczygemba on Feb. 7, 1959, in Falls City. Otto retired from Chevron Resources and also farmed and ranched his entire life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brothers, Valerian and Emerick Gawlik; and his sisters, Elizabeth Zaiontz, and Ethel and Leocadia Gawlik.

Otto is survived by his son, Robert Gawlik and wife Jackie of Falls City; his daughters, Barbara Banduch and husband Leslie of Libertyville, Ill., Bonnie Wiatrek and husband Kenneth of Falls City, and Beverly Lauderdale and husband Dan of Welfare; his brother, Gilbert Gawlik of Malakoff; and his grandchildren, Justin, Clarissa, and Blake Gawlik, Kaitlin, Aaron, and Eric Banduch, Tori and Matt Wiatrek, and Raegan and Ty Lauderdale.

A rosary was recited on Wednesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church.

Interment followed in the Falls City Cemetery in Falls City.

His grandsons served as pallbearers.
