Lucia Olga Ortiz, 69, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in Floresville, Texas.

She was born in Floresville on Jan. 12, 1942, to Jesus Gomez and Louisa Talamantez and remained here all of her life. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Floresville.

Lucia was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Pasquale G. Ortiz and Angel Ortiz Jr.; and her daughter, JoAnna Ortiz.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Avila and Soyla Ortiz, both of Floresville; her sons, Juan G., Robert G., and Ruben G. Ortiz, all of Floresville; her sister, Julia Flores, and her brother, Isidro T. Orosco, both of Floresville; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary was recited on Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A Mass was celebrated on Friday at 3 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Pallbearers were Randy Guevara, Leobaldo Ochoa, Andrew Aranda, Jonathan Flores, Roy Martinez Jr., and Ernest Chapko.
