AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)
Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and Rat--L--Traps. Striped bass are excellent on liver and perch near Dead Tree Point, and down rigging spoons near the dam and jetty. Redfish are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on shrimp, cheesebait, cut bait, and liver.

BUCHANAN Water clear; 68--72 degrees; 11.25' low. Black bass are good on shad colored Rat--L--Traps, white Terminator spinnerbaits, and weightless wacky rigged watermelon Whacky Sticks in creeks and pockets in 5 -- 15 feet. Striped bass are fair trolling green Curb's bucktail jigs and drifting live bait through schools of stripers in 25 -- 30 feet. White bass are fair trolling Shad Raps along Hog Island, and jigging Pirk Minnows and Tiny Traps above Paradise Point. Crappie are fair on minnows and Curb's crappie jigs. Channel catfish are good on live bait and cut bait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on juglines and trotlines.

CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are fair on soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are good on spoons and striper jigs near the dam, and on chicken livers and shad near the dam and power lines. Redfish are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and shad. Blue catfish are good on cut bait and liver near 181 Cove and the railroad bridge. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water clear; 68--71 degrees; 3.18' low. Black bass are good on JDC Skip--N--Pop topwaters and flukes in feeder creeks, and on blue/chartreuse Baby Brush Hogs along deep flats in 10 -- 20 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on Road Runners upriver in 5 -- 10 feet. Smallmouth bass are fair on 6" smoke/red tubes on jigheads, chartreuse JDC curl tail grubs, and Bleeding Shad Rat--L--Traps along main lake points and ledges in 5 -- 15 feet. Crappie are fair on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows around submerged brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on juglines and trotlines in creeks.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 70 -- 73 degrees; 7.24' low. Black bass are good on watermelon spinnerbaits and Texas rigged soft plastic worms and lizards. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnow tipped jigs. Drum are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on punchbait and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.

COLETO CREEK Water fairly clear; 1.48' low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and Rat--L--Traps in 8 -- 15 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on perch and shrimp. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch in 12 -- 20 feet.

FALCON Water stained; 78 -- 82 degrees. Black bass are excellent on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are good on jigs with grubs. Channel and blue catfish are very good on frozen shrimp and cut bait. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

GRANGER Water murky; 74--77 degrees; 0.40' low. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on tube jigs in 4 -- 12 feet. Blue catfish are good on prepared bait, shad, and Zote soap. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch.

LBJ Water fairly clear; 66--69 degrees; 0.55' low. Black bass are good on JDC Skip--N--Pop topwaters, watermelon flukes, and green pumpkin tubes along flats in 5 -- 12 feet. White bass are fair on Shad Raps and Tiny Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and blue Curb's crappie jigs over brush piles in 10 -- 20 feet. Channel catfish are good on live bait and doughbait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait.

TRAVIS Water stained; 68--71 degrees; 26.24' low. Black bass are excellent on silver topwaters, watermelon Brush Hogs, and white grubs in 5 -- 10 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on silver jigging spoons and blue/white jigs in 5 -- 15 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs in 10 -- 15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on cut bait and stinkbait in 20 -- 30 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG Water stained. Black bass are fair on chartreuse Rat--L--Traps. Hybrid striper are good on minnows. White bass are good on soft plastic curltail minnows. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
Saltwater

BAFFIN BAY Trout are fair to good around the rocks on Gambler Flappin' Shad, Bass Assassins, TTF plastics, Norton Sand Eels and topwaters. Redfish are fair on the edge of the ICW on shrimp and croakers. Trout are fair to good in the Land Cut on live shrimp.

BOLIVAR Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on soft plastics and plugs. Black drum and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.

CORPUS CHRISTI Trout are fair to good around Shamrock Cove on topwaters. Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Redfish are good in the channel on mullet.

FREEPORT Trout are fair to good at San Luis Pass on shrimp. Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs in Christmas Bay.

EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout are fair on the south shoreline on soft plastics and topwaters. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp. Trout are good at the jetty on live bait.

WEST GALVESTON BAY Trout are fair to good in the afternoon on topwaters for waders working the south shoreline. Redfish are fair to good on shell on live shrimp.

EAST MATAGORDA Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are fair to good for waders working the south shoreline on topwaters and Gulps.

MATAGORDA Redfish are fair to good on the edge of Oyster Lake on shrimp and crabs. Trout are fair to good for waders working shell and grass on soft plastics and topwaters. Black drum are fair to good at the jetty on crabs.

PORT ARANSAS Redfish are fair to good at East Flats on shrimp. Redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp. Offshore action is picking up.

PORT ISABEL Trout and redfish are fair to good on the Mexiquita Flats on live shrimp. Redfish are good at Laguna Vista on Super Spook Jrs and soft plastics under rattling corks. Drifting sand and grass holes has paid off as well.

PORT MANSFIELD Trout are fair to good on topwaters around sand and grass along the shorelines. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes on Gulps and plastics under popping corks.

PORT O’CONNOR Trout and redfish are good on topwaters over sand and grass in waist--deep water in San Antonio Bay. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp. Trout are good on the reefs on live shrimp.

ROCKPORT Redfish are fair to good on shrimp and mullet on the Estes Flats. Trout are fair over grass while drifting with live shrimp. Trout are fair to good for waders working topwaters.

NORTH SABINE Redfish are good in the marsh on small topwaters. Trout are fair to good in the river on shad. Flounder are fair on jigs tipped with shrimp around marsh drains.

SOUTH SABINE Trout are fair to good at the jetty on pogies and croakers. Sheepshead and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are good under slicks on soft plastics.

SOUTH PADRE Trout are good around the spoil islands, channel edges and color changes on DOA Shrimp and live shrimp. Trout, black drum, redfish and jack crevalle have been taken at the jetty.

TEXAS CITY Trout are fair to good on the reefs on live shrimp and croakers. Redfish are fair in Moses Lake on mullet and shrimp.

TRINITY BAY Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Redfish are good on shrimp in the marsh.
