Field Appraiser. The Wilson Central Appraisal District is currently accepting applications for the position of Field Appraiser. Responsibilities include office and field work associated with the appraisal of residential property. Applicants must have a high school education or equivalent and have TDLR certification or be willing to complete requirements to obtain such certification.  Applicants must also possess good computer and people skills; have reliable transportation, and a valid Texas Driver License. 1933-2011

Wanda Lee (Davis) Lewis, 77, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Floresville, Texas. She was born in Snider, Okla., on Dec. 4, 1933, to Dewey Davis and Nora King.

She was a member of the Floresville First Baptist Church and managed Dairy Queens in Floresville and Seguin for 27 years.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Dean, Wayne, and Jack Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Helms and husband Robert and their three sons, Donald and wife Marie and their children Rachael and Lucas, Travis Helms and wife Katherine and their daughter Abygail, and Justin Helms, all of Georgetown; son Gary Lewis and wife Shirley and their son Bryan and wife Emily and their children, Allison, Cody, and John Sanders, all of San Antonio; son Benton Lewis and wife Eugenia and son Michael and wife Lori, and daughter Michele and her children, Alyssa and Teagan, all of Gonzales; son Bruce Lewis and wife Angela and their children, Julie and her daughters, Ellen and Hannah, Sara and husband Mark and their children, Tristan and Gretchen, and Grace and husband Brent, all of Deland, Fla.; son Randall Lewis and wife Glenda and children Jason and wife Angie and their children, Nathan, Zachry, and Isabella, all of Allen, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, May 24, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Floresville with the Rev. Mike Clements officiating.

Music will include “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace,” “One Day at a Time,” and “Old Rugged Cross.”

Interment will follow in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Helms, Travis Helms, Michael Lewis, Bruce Maulding, and Jason Lewis.
