1928-2011

W.K. Yaws, 82, of Smiley, Texas, died Friday, May 20, 2011, in Gonzales. He was born in Rankin on Dec. 10, 1928.

He was preceded in death by his parents, King David and Gussie (Foster) Yaws; two sisters, Lenora Allison and Ida Yaws; and a brother, J.W. Yaws.

W.K. is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean (Bolton) Yaws; two sons, Robert Yaws of Smiley and Danny Yaws and wife Tina of Smiley; a grandson, Dustin Yaws of Luling; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation was held Sunday, May 22, from 4-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A graveside funeral service was held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Wrightsboro Cemetery in Gonzales County with the Rev. Marvin Miles officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
